They just grow too fast...

I can't believe its been over two weeks since I brought Sirlei home with me and I can't believe how much she has already changed. I took her home weighing 5 lbs 6 oz in a little preemie outfit her grandma and grandpa Melendez bought her and now at two weeks she weighs 7 lbs 1 oz. Her hair is getting longer and curlier by the day and she is now getting a darker complexion. It looks like she is sporting a nice tan, she definately takes after her daddy:) I am so lucky to be her mommy and can't wait for whats to come!

Last night Emily, Des, Kadence and Kylee came down to my apartment to see me and Sirlei. It was so good to see them and talk to them. I haven't gotten out of the house lately so little visits like that make my day. They also brought me dinner. How sweet are they. Thanks guys your the best!!!

Hypnobirthing for a Calm Natural Birth

Throughout my pregnancy I had planned on delivering naturally. In order to prepare for this I took a class with husband called Hypnobirthing. Even if you aren't planning on a natural birth this class was so informative I would still take it. Because of the techniques I learned in this class I was able to manage the pain and actually I believe I was able to lesson the pain dramatically. I actually went through my labor at home and waited to go to the hospital becuase I didn't think my contractions were strong enough to head for the hospital yet (plus I had gone to the hospital the night before with contractions and they sent me home because I was only dilated to a 1 so I thought there was no way I was going to deliver the next day). When I finally decided it was time to go the hospital I was already dilated to a 10!!! I couldn't beleive it. I was checked into the hospital at 4:38 pm and delivered Sirlei at 5:06 pm! She is small for her hieght but other than that she is perfectly healthy. She was so small my in-laws bought her preemie clothes to where because all the clothes I had were so big for her. She will be a week old tomorrow and still wearing her preemie clothes but she is gaining weight fast. I can't believe I'm a mom and I feel lucky everyday that she was sent to me.

She is Here!!!!!!!

Sirlei is here!!!!!!! She is beautiful, 5lbs. 9 oz. 19.5 inches. A full head of hair (so we know she must take after mom...) and jodi did great, she was calm throughout the whole thing.

Baby Update

So I went to the doctor on Monday and I am still only dilated to a 1 and about 50% effaced so I hope things start moving along a little faster this week. I know my due date isn't till next thursday but I really just want to have her!
